7 Daily MindShifting Practices to Transform Your Mindset

This is the final installment (for now) of our series of weekly post, each containing 7 different MindShifting practices to try – one each day.

We have been getting very positive reactions to this series and we love hearing stories of how you have consciously world them into your daily routines as reminders of how we can proactively shift the very mind sets that shape our daily interactions and outcomes.

So…here are your seven daily Mindshifting practices to try this week:

1. Think of something that is bothering you, and then list three things that you learned because of that.

2. Think of an action, maybe an annoying habit, that you want someone to stop. Instead of asking them to stop, rephrase that as the thing you want to happen and how that benefits them, not what you don’t want to happen.

3. When you start feeling annoyed or angry at someone, ask yourself: “If I were playful rather than annoyed, if I were curious rather than sure, what might I do or say?”

4. Find five times that you can compliment somebody today. No criticism. No favors. No coaching. Just find five opportunities to compliment someone.

5. One time today, when someone corrects you or criticizes you, ask them to explain further, ask them to give an example, and thank them. Nothing more.

6. Ask one person what they most like about you, and then thank them.

7. One time when you catch someone accommodating and doing something you ask them to do, stop, thank them, and then ask them what they really want or would like.
